The Technical Challenge

The platform required a multi-role architecture — students, parents, and tutors each have separate accounts with different permissions, linked together. In plain terms: a parent logs in and sees their child's sessions and progress. A tutor logs in and sees their schedule and earnings. A student sees their upcoming lessons and subject resources. None of them see each other's private data.

Building this without errors during signup required restructuring the account creation flow so the parent record was established first before the child account was triggered — solving a sequencing problem that would have caused duplicate or broken accounts at scale.

The financial layer covers session billing, tutor payouts, free trial handling, and subscription logic — all running without manual intervention.
